New Hope completed the 2016 season with a 4-6 record. Last year New Hope finished sixth in Class 3A region seven with a 2-4 region record and failed to qualify for the playoffs. Since 2010, New Hope has gone a combined 36-37. Their 49.0% winning percentage ranks 30th in Class 3A over the past seven seasons. Over the past 25 seasons, New Hope has managed to compile a record of 112-155. Their 42.0% winning percentage ranks 42nd in Class 3A and 268th in the AHSAA. Randall Taylor resigned his position as head football coach after seven seasons leading the program. His overall record stands at 36-37 and 1-2 in the playoffs. Kenny Chadwick is the new head football coach at New Hope. He was an assistant coach at Fort Payne. He was also the head coach at Appalachian in 2011 where his only team finished with a 6-5 record. Coach Chadwick's overall record as a head football coach in one season stands at 6-5 (54.5%). Over the course of his career, Coach Chadwick's teams have qualified for the playoffs a total of one time . The New Hope Indians will play in Class 3A region seven during the 2017 season. It will be an uphill battle for the Indians if they hope to grab one of the four playoff slots in region seven this season. The Indians open the 2017 season on the road against non-region opponent Westminster Christian on Friday, August 25 at Earl Van Dyke Stadium. Last year the Westminster Christian Wildcats finished with an overall record of 2-8 and in sixth place in Class 4A region seven. The Wildcats ended last season on a positive note with a win over Priceville by a score of 50-15 after failing to gain a playoff spot. New Hope and Westminster Christian have met a total of 8 times on the football field. The Indians have a 1-7-0 record against the Wildcats.
